About us

Internationalisation is at the heart of our faculty strategy and horizon since our first exchange programs in the late 1990s. In fact, we have been promoting student exchange mobility via our network of over 300 partnerships around the world, and we remain committed to developing new ways to internationalise our academic programs as well as the experiences of both students and staff.

To keep pace with the evolving needs of higher education and our diverse academic community, our internationalisation strategy has expanded far beyond traditional mobility schemes. While physical exchanges remain a core component, we are also embracing a broader and more flexible approach.

Our Internationalisation Strategy

We believe that offering varied, accessible, and inclusive international experiences is essential to preparing students and staff for global challenges and opportunities. Our approach combines physical mobility with innovative virtual and intercultural formats to reach a wider audience and enhance global engagement across our campus.

To complement physical mobility, we offer diverse formats that make international experiences more accessible to all:

  • COILs and Virtual Exchanges: Collaborative online projects with international partners that foster global engagement without travel.
  • Online Courses: Internationally-focused courses that develop global awareness and intercultural skills.
  • Intercultural Workshops: Tailored sessions to support incoming students and prepare outgoing participants, promoting inclusion and cultural readiness.

Since 1996, we have sent 2,081 students abroad, fostering a strong culture of academic exchange and global engagement. Each year, we welcome approximately 180 international students, while around 300 of our students participate in study-abroad programs, reflecting our commitment to outward mobility.

Our academic community benefits from hundreds of hours of lectures delivered annually by international visiting professors, enriching the curriculum with global perspectives and expertise.

We maintain a robust international network with 190 one-to-one agreements and participate in 110 multilateral agreements coordinated by the Université Catholique de Lille, further expanding opportunities for collaboration and mobility.

In addition, we offer eight double degree diplomas in partnership with leading international institutions, and four English-taught programs designed to attract and support a diverse student body.

These numbers highlight our long-standing and strategic commitment to internationalisation, offering a dynamic and globally connected academic environment.

With 190 one-to-one cooperation agreements and participation in 110 additional partnerships led by the Université Catholique de Lille, our international network continues to grow and thrive. These partnerships are a cornerstone of our global strategy, supporting mobility, innovation, and academic excellence.

We actively seek and value collaboration with institutions that share our commitment to inclusion, sustainability, and student well-being. These shared values are central to how we build long-term, meaningful relationships across borders.

We are open and enthusiastic about developing new joint projects in a variety of fields:

Academic Collaboration: including student exchanges, Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiatives, and double degree diplomas that prepare students for an increasingly interconnected world.

Enterprise Engagement: working with industry partners to enhance the professionalisation of students through internships, joint training, and career-oriented programs.

Research Cooperation: promoting international research collaboration aligned with our areas of expertise, especially through our research center, LITL – Lille Inclusive Transformative Lab. Our goal is to foster impactful, interdisciplinary research that addresses global challenges. Learn more on our LITL research center : https://litl-lab.fr/

Our collaboration with the Erasmus+ National Agency reflects our dedication to high-quality, impactful projects. We regularly engage in:

  • Student and staff mobility projects
  • Capacity-building and cooperation partnerships
  • Support for inclusion, diversity, and sustainability in mobility
  • Strategic development of digital and blended learning formats, including Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs) and COIL initiatives

Through Erasmus+, we help create an open and connected learning environment, and we actively seek to expand our network with institutions that share these values.

Whether through mobility, joint teaching initiatives, or innovative cross-border collaborations, Erasmus+ is a key pillar of our international strategy and long-term vision.
